Before you begin

The following roles are required for troubleshooting:

  • Microsoft Teams Administrator
  • Microsoft Teams Devices Administrator
  • Microsoft Office 365 Administrator
  • Intune Administrator
  1. Check that the Account is Licensed correctly – Link to the Microsoft licensing Neat page
    • With Microsoft’s recent licensing changes, you’ll need to ensure that you have assigned the proper Teams Rooms licenses on the accounts associated with the Room’s resource account
    • For more information on Microsoft Teams Rooms licenses, see the Microsoft article: Microsoft Teams Rooms licenses
  2. Verify Android Device Administrator (ADA) is Enabled – Intune
    • This is a one-time enablement and allows all Microsoft Teams devices running the Android platform, so Teams phones, Teams Displays, Teams Panels and Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android to enroll and currently require by Microsoft to allow for Teams Rooms on Android devices to be used.
  3. Ensure Android Device Administrator (ADA) is allowed in your Enrollment Device Restrictions – Intune
    • Device enrollment restrictions let admins restrict devices from enrolling in Intune and you must ensure ADA is allowed and the minimum is set to Android 10. Note: Until our next firmware update, the Pad will be running Android 9 and the minimum should be set to 9.
    • For more information on setting up Microsoft Teams Rooms, see the Microsoft article: What are enrollment restrictions?
  4. Check your device limit in Intune and Microsoft Entra ID (formally known as Azure Active Directory (AAD)):
    • Multiple sign-in attempts can result in multiple entries in Intune/Entra, which can cause the Neat device to hit the account device limit (IIRC, this is a known issue on the Microsoft side and not specific to Neat). Admins can delete duplicate entries and then reattempt sign-in.
    • For more information, see the Microsoft article: Understand Intune and Microsoft Entra device limit restrictions.
