How to Sign in and Pair on Zoom
Last updated on October 15, 2025
Once you have your Neat devices and gone through the OOB (out-of-box) setup and chosen Zoom as your preferred platform, you are ready to sign in to your Zoom Room.
Contents
Prerequisites
- You must be able to sign in to a Zoom Account with the correct license. For more information on Zoom licensing needed for each device, please see our Zoom Rooms licensing article.
- Ensure that Neat-level pairing has been successfully completed, and the Zoom app is launched.
- If pairing the Neat Pad as a controller for the Board, it should be configured as a Controller during the OOB (out-of-box) stage.
- For a deeper understanding of Neat and Zoom pairing, please see Understanding Neat and Zoom Pairing on Neat devices.
Info: Zoom software running on Neat Pad and Neat Bar/Bar 2/Bar Pro need to be able to communicate over IP address on TCP port 9090 for Zoom level pairing to occur.
1. Pairing and Signing in
After you have successfully paired the Neat Bar/Bar 2/Bar Pro with a Neat Pad at the Neat level, the Bar/Bar 2/Bar Pro and Pad will launch their respective Zoom Rooms software. To operate as a single Zoom Room device, the two devices will automatically pair at the Zoom level, this process should happen seamlessly.
Note: You may briefly see the Zoom Room Application software (running on Bar/Bar 2/Bar Pro) display a ‘pair with controller’ message with a code. At the same time, the Zoom Room Controller application (running on the Pad) may show a screen prompting for this code. This process completes automatically, and the devices will finish Zoom-level pairing without user intervention.
You then need to ‘sign-in’ to your Zoom Room by either using a code (for Personal Zoom Room setup) or an Activation code (for Shared or Licensed Zoom Room). The Zoom Room software launched on the Neat device presents you with a sign-in screen. Several sign-in options are shown, including:
- Go to https://zoom.us/pair on a browser to sign in to your Zoom account and enter the code shown on the Neat device screen.
or - Enter an activation code
Other options are available, but for the purposes of this article we focus on these two methods.
1.1 Using the displayed code
- Click Sign in on the Neat device.
- Open a browser on a laptop or similar.
- Enter https://zoom.us/pair
- Sign in to your Zoom account.
- Enter the code shown on the Neat device screen.
- A “Success” message displays on your browser window to confirm you are now signed into Zoom Rooms on your Neat device.
- Your Neat device displays a confirmation message to check it was you that tried to sign in.
- Click Yes, it’s me.
- You are now signed in to Zoom Rooms on your Neat device.
1.2 Enter a Zoom Room activation code
Note: Only a Zoom administrator can create rooms or generate an activation code to sign into a Zoom Room.
The Zoom Rooms activation code is in your Zoom portal. If you’ve already added the meeting room to your Zoom account, scroll down to that room name in the Zoom Portal to find your activation code. For more information on how to sign in to your Zoom Room, see this article from Zoom: Signing in to Zoom Rooms.
More info about using an activation code
An activation code is a 16 digit number generated after setting up the Zoom Room on the Zoom web portal. When generated, an email is sent to the user who created the room and it is also viewable in the Zoom web portal. If you are not a Zoom administrator in your organization, you will have to ask your Zoom admin for this code when you first set up a Neat Bar/Pad/Board. The activation code is active for 10 days, after which a new activation code will need to be generated (you can use the ‘regenerate’ button). For further information, see the Zoom article: Signing into Zoom Room using an activation code.
