What is ISO 27001 certification?

The International Organization for Standardization 27001:2022 Standard (ISO 27001) is a globally recognized standard for information security management. The standard specifies the requirements for an ISMS (Information Security Management System), which is a systematic approach to ensure an organisation is able to manage and protect its information from various threats through a framework of policies, processes and procedures.

To become ISO certified, a company needs to demonstrate it has fulfilled the requirements set out in the specific ISO standard through a comprehensive auditing process performed by an independent auditor.
