How is Neat App Hub unique?

Neat App Hub goes beyond what’s been done before with video hardware devices by making available a selection of curated applications that provide consistent specialized experiences for users across Neat devices to support various workspaces and workflows. These certified applications are centrally deployed, managed and monitored by IT through Neat Pulse. Users can then select the business applications where it makes sense. Why isn’t my Neat Pad showing the App Hub interface after pairing with a Neat Board?

After completing Neat-level pairing with a Neat Board that’s running App Hub, the connected Neat Pad may sometimes get stuck on a screen showing only a settings icon—rather than displaying the expected App Hub interface. This can occur even though the Neat Pad successfully enters App Hub mode and completes the pairing process.

The issue tends to occur when the Neat Board is enrolled in Neat Pulse and configured with multiple apps (such as YouTube, Miro, or Appspace). In some cases, Neat Pad will eventually recover and load the correct screen on its own, but the delay can create a confusing and inconsistent experience for users.

To improve this experience, we’ve disabled the ability to add a Neat Pad to a Neat Board while App Hub is active. If you already have a Neat Pad connected, it will remain paired, but you now have the option to remove it. This is a temporary change while we work on enhancing the communication and behavior between Neat Pad and Neat Board in this setup.

How can my business app be considered for certification on Neat devices?

App Hub is an open ecosystem. This means that developers bring an existing app or develop a new app to be certified for Neat App Hub. Applications need to meet Neat’s requirements to become certified for Neat devices. This certification program ensures a quality experience for our customers. To set up some time to meet with us to learn more, complete this form.

Does Neat have a certification process for apps to become part of Neat App Hub

Yes. Neat’s certification program ensures a quality experience for our customers. Neat R&D rigorously tests applications to ensure they comply with requirements to run on Neat devices. This testing is a collaborative effort between Neat and the application provider. Once the testing phase is complete and an app meets Neat’s certification requirements, the app becomes accessible in beta within App Hub for customers to deploy from Neat Pulse and test on devices. As with any beta testing, there could be bugs uncovered that will be addressed prior to formal certification.

App Compatibility and Use Scenarios

Are these third-party apps available on all Neat devices?

Individual apps are certified for individual devices based on appropriate use cases, so not all apps will run on all devices. E.g. a scheduling app like Robin will only run on Neat Pad. A visual whiteboarding app like Miro will only run on touch display devices such as our Neat Board device portfolio. Some apps may initially run on a select number of devices and later be expanded to support more devices, subject to further development by the respective app development partner.

Neat Share FAQs

Neat Share is a technology that enables you to bring applications into your Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting while natively preserving the experience of each. You can run multiple business apps on one Neat device and join a Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting running on a different Neat video device in the same place. For example, a Neat Board running Miro can join a Neat Bar Pro running Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting as a companion in a meeting space.

How is Neat Share different from Zoom Companion Mode?

Zoom Companion workflows give users the ability to link multiple devices in the same space together (permanently or temporarily) to share content, use the Zoom Whiteboard experience, access secondary camera angles (for a camera-enabled companion devices like Neat Boards) into a Zoom call. The important distinction is that this connection occurs at the Zoom Room application level. For more details, see Zoom’s documentation here.

Neat Share enables you to wirelessly and seamlessly share applications installed via App Hub from the “App Hub Neat device” to another “conferencing-platform-anchored Neat device” in a Zoom or Microsoft Teams call while preserving the native experience of your Zoom, Microsoft Teams and the app platform with just a tap. The important distinction is that the Neat Share connection occurs at the Neat firmware level.

To clarify, both workflows involve multiple devices in the room working together. Zoom Companion workflows involve all devices running Zoom Rooms and no App Hub apps. Neat Share involves one device running Zoom/Teams, and a second device running App Hub-installed apps (but not Zoom or Teams).
