How can my business app be considered for certification on Neat devices?

Neat Open Apps is an open ecosystem which we’re continuously growing to support more workstyles, verticals, and certified apps, while enabling the development of new applications to meet evolving customer needs.

This open ecosystem means that developers can bring an existing app or develop a new app to be certified for Neat Open Apps. Applications need to meet Neat’s requirements to become certified for Neat devices. This certification program ensures a quality experience for our customers. To set up some time to meet with us to learn more, complete this form.

Does Neat have a certification process for apps to become part of Neat Open?

Yes. Neat’s certification program ensures a quality experience for our customers. Neat R&D rigorously tests applications to ensure they comply with requirements to run on Neat devices. This testing is a collaborative effort between Neat and the application provider. Once the testing phase is complete and an app meets Neat’s certification requirements, the app becomes accessible in beta within Neat Open for customers to deploy from Neat Pulse and test on devices. As with any beta testing, there could be bugs uncovered that will be addressed prior to formal certification.

App Compatibility and Use Scenarios

Can browser room control be used for devices set up in Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom single-platform mode?

No. Browser-based room control is unique to Neat Open. When a Neat device is set up in Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, or Google Meet mode, its features and controls are tied to that platform’s native interface (via controller, tablet, or in-room touch interface).

In Neat Open mode, users get a platform-agnostic browser experience by visiting go.neat.no and entering a code. This unlocks control of the device (camera framing, microphone mute/unmute, speaker volume, etc.) directly from their laptop, removing the need for Neat Pad as controller.

Are third-party apps available on all Neat devices?

Individual apps are certified for individual devices based on appropriate use cases, so not all apps will run on all devices. E.g. a scheduling app like Robin will only run on Neat Pad. A visual whiteboarding app like Miro will only run on touch display devices such as our Neat Board device portfolio. Some apps may initially run on a select number of devices and later be expanded to support more devices, subject to further development by the respective app development partner.
