New: Neat Bar Generation 2 – BYOD-only without Neat Pad

Neat has introduced a new BYOD-only mode for Neat Bar 2 that does not require Neat Pad or a paid subscription, providing a more cost-effective option for BYOD-only use cases. This support will be available with Neat OS 25.3 update and ready for shipping beginning June 25, 2025. 

No. Neat Select is a value bundle exclusive to Neat Bar Generation 1. It includes reduced hardware pricing and requires a subscription. Neat Bar 2 is not part of Neat Select.

With Neat Bar 2, we are taking a simpler, more flexible approach that better aligns with how competitive BYOD solutions are typically sold – offering the device without a required subscription. 

No. Customers use Neat Pulse Starter, which is included for device setup, remote management, and monitoring. Paid Neat Pulse Plans (Plus or Pro) can be added for advanced platform features, premium support, and extended warranty coverage.

Neat Bar 2 without Neat Pad (BYOD-only) mode will be supported with the 25.3 software release and will be available for shipping starting June 25, 2025.

Set up is done through Neat Pulse. With Neat Pulse Starter, customers can set up the Neat device in BYOD-only mode and access essential management and monitoring capabilities.

Yes, if they are running v25.3 or later. However, there are approximately 9,000 units in Neat Bar inventory globally that require a Neat Pad to complete the upgrade to v 25.3. These units cannot be set up in this new configuration without first being upgraded using a Neat Pad.

Yes. Neat Bar 2 with Neat Pad can be deployed in BYOD-only mode as part of a standard set up. 

No. Not at this time. Neat Bar Pro can be deployed in BYOD-only mode by pairing with Neat Pad.

Pairing with Neat Pad provides additional device controls, including:  

  • Camera and microphone management  
  • Volume controls 
  • Access to system settings  
  • On-screen Neat Pad BYOD cable instructions  
  • Remote device control 
  • Ability to add Neat Center 

When configured in BYOD-only mode without Neat Pad, Neat Bar 2 supports a single screen. Dual-screen support is available when deployed for Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

A single USB-C cable that supports bi-directional data and power transfer is needed.

No. A USB-C cable is not included with the purchase of Neat Bar 2 at this time.

Yes. Neat Pulse Starter is included with every Neat device purchase. Neat Pulse Plus and Pro plans are optional but recommended for advanced platform features and enhanced support or with Neat Pulse Pro for full coverage, including extended warranty.

Customers get access to advanced management and monitoring capabilities for Neat devices deployed in BYOD-only mode by subscribing to Neat Pulse Plus or Pro paid plans.

What if my display has a different resolution?

If your display uses a resolution other than those listed above, we recommend working with the TV or screen manufacturer to adjust the settings to a compatible resolution.

A screen mount with VESA interface (up to 600 mm width) is optional and can be purchased separately. Additionally, an extension kit can be purchased to increase the width to 800 mm.

Neat Bar 2 has a 50MP sensor with a capture resolution of 12.5MP and default supports up to 4x digital zoom. The 113 degrees horizontal field of view allows flexible zooming and framing of people throughout your meeting room.

No. There is no privacy shutter on Neat Bar 2. 

Yes. Neat Bar 2 will show a LED indicating ongoing use.

Neat Bar 2 provides real-time sensors that track the number of people in a room and monitor noise and lighting conditions. Neat Bar 2 pairs with Neat Pad as Controller. Neat Pad provides real-time sensors that monitor air quality, temperature and humidity. All of this useful data is accessible to IT administrators from the Neat Pulse platform where Neat Bar 2 is managed and monitored in a centralized and secure way. 

Yes. A screen mount with VESA compatibility up to 600 mm width is sold separately.

An additional extension kit will extend the screen mount to 800 mm width.

Yes. By replacing the mount adapter from Neat Bar with the new mount adapter of Neat Bar 2, the mounts from Neat Bar can be reused.

Yes, all Neat video devices support Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Neat Bar 2 will fit the same range of spaces as Neat Bar. 

It is made to support spaces that are up to 16 ft / 5 meter. 

Neat Bar 2 is certified for Microsoft Teams. Zoom certification is pending. We will update Zoom certification status when available.

Neat Bar 2 has two HDMI outputs and can support up to two displays with 4kp60.

For most scenarios, Neat Center will provide high-quality audio up to 16.4 feet/5 meters distance in all directions. Neat Center will be closer to people, picking up everyone around the table at high fidelity. With 16x mic in a circular array, beams can be formed in any direction.

Neat Symmetry supports 8 frames on Neat Bar 2 as our AI understands where people are in the room and either select one per frame or combine people if they are close.

Yes, Neat Bar 2 supports Neat Center.

Neat Bar 2 provides BYOD through USB-C, so there is only one cable to connect.
