Neat App Hub – Introduction

Neat App Hub is a groundbreaking platform that brings essential apps customers rely on in their daily workflows directly to Neat devices. This curated ecosystem of applications empowers businesses to extend their technology solution investments to a more complete, collaborative, and engaging environment. Whether customers use a mix of tools or have a best-of-breed approach, it natively integrates those tools into Neat devices across the workplace, giving customers more choice and flexibility.

Neat App Hub goes beyond what’s been done before with video hardware devices by making available a selection of curated applications that provide consistent specialized experiences for users across Neat devices to support various workspaces and workflows. These certified applications are centrally deployed, managed and monitored by IT through Neat Pulse. Users can then select the business applications where it makes sense. Relevant business applications such as Miro can even join a Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting hosted on another Neat device, using a patent-pending Neat Share capability.

Neat App Hub integrates the daily applications teams rely on into today’s modern workplace to address these use cases:

  • Workplace experience: streamlined and informative experiences employees have as they navigate in and around the workplace to address:
  • Room/desk booking
  • Visitor management
  • Virtual receptionist
  • Wayfinding
  • Digital signage

Shared space collaboration: engaging and inclusive moments that matter in spaces where people come together to meet. Bringing tools and workflows traditionally deployed at the desktop to shared spaces including:

  • Visual whiteboard
  • Content management
  • Interactive presentations
  • Engaging and fun tools
  • Beyond video meetings – alternative types of video calling services and portals

Yes. Neat App Hub offers more than just a curated and expanding ecosystem of applications. It also supports custom web apps, web tools, and websites—providing greater flexibility and control. This unique feature empowers teams to create truly personalized experiences in their Neat spaces. Whether it’s a publicly accessible web app or an internal intranet tool, customers can easily integrate the apps that matter most to their workflows.

Yes! Neat App Hub already offers dozens of applications supporting a wide range of use cases—and it’s just the beginning. We’re continuously growing the ecosystem to support more workstyles, verticals, and certified apps, while enabling the development of new applications to meet evolving customer needs. If you have an app you’d like to see supported on App Hub, submit it here.

Neat App Hub – App Compatibility and Use Scenarios

Individual apps are certified for individual devices based on appropriate use cases, so not all apps will run on all devices. E.g. a scheduling app like Robin will only run on Neat Pad. A visual whiteboarding app like Miro will only run on touch display devices such as our Neat Board device portfolio. Some apps may initially run on a select number of devices and later be expanded to support more devices, subject to further development by the respective app development partner.

Yes. Once IT enables the business applications on a Neat video device, those applications are accessible to users via the device Home screen. Users can switch between the accessible applications when needed.  For instance, IT can enable apps such as Miro, Lucid, YouTube and Google Maps on Neat Board.  Users will be able to click on the Lucid icon to collaborate within that solution and then click out of that application and click on Miro to experience that application.

No, not without a reset of the Neat device. A user cannot switch between Zoom, Microsoft Teams and business applications as this capability is not supported by Zoom or Microsoft. However, IT administrators can choose to reset a Neat device to run Microsoft Teams, Zoom or business applications across meeting spaces when/if needed.

Yes. Both Microsoft Teams and Zoom Rooms support alternative room and desk booking applications on Neat Pads to address space bookings. For example, a Neat Pad running Robin for room booking can utilize the same calendar account as a Neat device running Microsoft Teams Room or Zoom Rooms.

Neat App Hub – Kiosk Mode, Digital Signage and Specialized Use Cases

Yes. You can choose a single app to run on a Neat device from App Hub and have that run in kiosk style so that it is the always available app – to do this only enable a single app and Pulse will automatically keep that app running at all times. The optional slide out menu can also be disabled if required.

Neat App Hub offers support for digital signage on Neat Pad devices standalone and on Neat Board portfolio devices. With Neat App Hub, you can deploy digital signage applications in kiosk mode, or you can deploy it alongside multiple collaboration apps on the same device. This enables your teams to jump into any of the apps you’ve made accessible when needed and for you to display news and announcements as well. Neat plans to support 3rd party digital signage solutions on Zoom and Microsoft Teams devices in the future.

Zoom does not support 3rd party digital signage applications on Zoom Rooms devices and requires customers to use the Zoom Rooms digital signage capability. Microsoft recently announced support for Appspace and XOGO on Microsoft Teams Windows (MTR-W). They have stated that support for Microsoft Teams Rooms Android (MTR-A) is planned for sometime in 2025.

Yes. Neat App Hub is a growing ecosystem and features apps from a number of providers address visitor management and virtual receptionist capabilities. These apps are available today to deploy on your Neat devices. The current list of providers can be found here.

Neat App Hub – Neat Share

Neat Share is a technology that enables you to bring applications into your Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting while natively preserving the experience of each. You can run multiple business apps on one Neat device and join a Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting running on a different Neat video device in the same place. For example, a Neat Board running Miro can join a Neat Bar Pro running Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting as a companion in a meeting space.
