Neat Bar and Board use ultrasound to detect movement/a change in its surroundings to wake up. For this, the Neat Bar and Neat Board do have an ultrasonic speaker and ultrasonic microphones. As the camera is not used and people are not captured in any way.
No, Neat Bar has one USB-C connection. This does work with a touch screen today, or will work as USB passthrough in the future. These two functions cannot be combined using a (3rd party) USB hub.
All Neat devices run Neat OS, a hardened and secure firmware locked to work with Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams.
The mounting instructions of Neat Bar can be found on your Neat Pad during setup. They are also located here: https://neat.no/bar/?neat-bar-installation-guides=intro
Neat Bar is a simple and elegant, highly capable meeting room device in a compact design. It’s perfect for bringing superior-quality audio and video to your meeting, huddle or focus rooms for up to ten people. You can mount Neat Bar above or below one or two monitors, and it comes with Neat Pad, our dynamic touch screen, that allows you to control all the meeting room functions. Together Neat Bar and Neat Pad can provide you with a complete Zoom Room or Microsoft Teams experience second to none.
When you purchase a Neat Bar, you get a Neat Pad with it to use as a Zoom Room controller or Microsoft Teams console. You are also able to buy additional Neat Pad(s) to work as either an additional controller/console or Zoom Room Schedular/Microsoft Teams Panel for your meeting room.
Detailed specifications for Neat Bar and Neat Pad can be found on our website on Neat Bar Specifications.
You can also find more information through the Explore the technology in Neat Bar interactive menu.
You can try the Neat Bar risk free for 30 days. If you love it, keep it. If it’s not the right fit, we’ll gladly accept your return and credit you for the full amount of your order.
Neat Bar ships with a wall mount, screen mount and table stand so it’s easy for anyone to install and set-up, above or below one or two screens.
Neat Bar and Neat Pad need to be on the same subnet to be able to find each other and pair together. In most cases, pairing problems occur because the Bar and Pad are not connected to the same subnet (and are unable to send/receive multicast packets between each other). For example, if you have connected your Bar to wired network, but Pad on Wi-Fi network, it is possible they are on two different networks in your company.
Please see Neat’s network and firewall requirements guide for further understanding of this topic.
A quick way to find out if you are in the same network is by finding the IP address and subnet mask of both Neat Pad (through the Pad settings) and Neat Bar (press the reset button once at the back of the Bar). If you are not familiar with IP addressing, please reach out to your Network administrator for confirmation, or email Neat’s technical support team at support@neat.no.
Yes. The Neat Bar ships with a Neat Pad and both will need to be paired together to operate as a complete Zoom Room device.
When installing a Neat Bar with its dedicated Neat Pad, choose the setup: ‘Set up Neat Bar with controller’.
You can also buy additional Neat Pads to work as either extra Zoom Room Controller or Zoom Room Schedular (however, these do not need to be paired with a Neat Bar at the Neat level). If you are using the Neat Pad as an extra controller either for a Neat Bar/Neat Board or a 3rd party Zoom Room system, choose the setup ‘Add a controller’. To use Neat Pad as a Schedular, choose the ‘Add a schedular’ option.
Neat Bar is perfect for bringing superior-quality audio and video to your huddle, focus and meeting spaces with up to 10 participants.
Neat Bar is optimized for up to 16 feet (5 meters), but no two rooms are ever really alike and there are many nuances to every room environment which is why we recommend you try Neat Bar in your meeting space.
Neat Bar can be connected to one or two screens. When connecting to only one TV screen, you must connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI 1 port of the Neat Bar. The HDMI 2 port should be used for the additional screen.
Neat can use any standard flat panel display with HDMI input and a 1080p resolution (16:9 aspect ratio) or higher. In general, thinner displays with standard VESA mounting attachment points are most compatible with our mounting hardware.
Yes! All Neat devices support Wi-Fi and are compatible with both 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks. Users can choose the Wi-Fi option during the setup process. For more information, please see the article Wi-Fi support on Neat devices.
All Neat devices support Wi-Fi, and are compatible with both 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks. Users can choose the Wi-Fi option during the setup process. For Neat Bar and Neat Pad, the Wi-Fi configuration is done through the Neat Pad during the initial setup and pairing process. For a step-by-step guide on how to configure Wi-Fi on a Bar and Pad, please see the article: How to connect Neat Bar and Neat Pad over Wi-Fi
The Zoom software and Neat firmware versions for both Neat Bar and Neat Pad can be viewed from the Neat Pad.
On your Neat Pad, navigate to Settings (lower left corner) -> About. The Zoom software version numbers will be displayed on the right (e.g. “5.5.0”). In most circumstances the Neat firmware versions (called “Controller Firmware Version” for the Pad and “Zoom Rooms Firmware Version” for the Bar) will be displayed in a format like “NFA1.20210213.0033”.
To check Neat firmware and serial numbers, go to Settings -> General on your Neat Pad. Next to it, there will be an option called ‘System Settings’. Click on this and enter the Room’s passcode*. Then navigate to Systems Settings -> System -> About -> Neat Pad and Neat Bar serial numbers and firmware versions. (If you do not see Neat Bar listed here, it is quite likely your Neat Bar and Neat Pad are not paired)
*Note: The room passcode is configured in the Zoom portal. To access it, login to Zoom portal using Administrator’s account and navigate to Room management -> Zoom Rooms-> find your Zoom room and click ‘Edit’ next to its name -> Rooms profile and search for ‘Room Passcode’. By default, this is set to 00000 or 012345.
Once you launch Zoom Room software on Neat, the Bar and Pad should auto-pair and present you with a sign-in screen. Click on ‘Sign in’ and you can either ‘Enter activation code’ or sign-in to your Zoom account and select a Zoom room (or create a new Zoom Room). You will need a Zoom administrator account to obtain the ‘Activation key’ from the Zoom portal.
Neat Bar has five built in microphones angled in an end-fire array and three sensor mics, to enable advanced differential beamforming and optimize audio pick up for up to 16 feet (5 meters).
Neat Bar pairs with our Neat Pad controller, which has two built-in microphones as well. When we enable these mics in a future software release, the audio pick up will be further enhanced to support even larger meeting rooms.
Neat Bar pairs with our Neat Pad controller, which has two built-in microphones. When we enable these mics in a future software release, the controller will function as an external table microphone. It is not possible to connect an external microphone to the Neat Bar. Only Neat Bar Pro has this capability.
Neat Bar has an HDMI in port and supports sharing screen content with audio via an HDMI cable. Note that this only supports 1080p30 resolution for content sharing and therefore you should connect a laptop that is capable of supporting this resolution.
Additionally, you can use ‘direct sharing’ (no cables required) offered by Zoom. There are two options for direct sharing:
- Ultrasound proximity sharing: you just bring your laptop running Zoom desktop client near the Neat Bar and press the ‘Share screen’ button your laptop.
- If proximity detection doesn’t work, you can activate direct sharing by entering a Sharing Key or Meeting ID. Click on Neat Pad’s ‘Share content’ button and you will see a Sharing code/Meeting ID. Now on your Zoom desktop client -> Home -> click on ‘Share screen’ and you’ll be asked to enter either Sharing Key or Meeting ID.
Neat Bar’s camera supports 4x digital zoom based on a 4056*3040 (12 MP) capture resolution. The 120 degrees horizontal field of view enables automatic zooming and framing of people in the meeting room.
Please go to the Zoom administrator page and navigate to ‘Rooms’. Once you have chosen your specific room to edit, you can find the option ‘Start HDMI content share manually on controller’. Enabling this setting will prevent automatic sharing of content in the meeting.
Yes it can! The Neat Bar supports a standard called CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), which allows it to send control signals to the screen via the HDMI cable and put the screen to sleep when not in use. Please note that the TV screen will need to have support for CEC. If you enable the ‘Auto wake up’ option (on Neat Pad, go to Settings -> General -> System Settings -> System -> Auto wake up), the Neat Bar will automatically wake up the screen when it detects people in the room.
The default volume can be set on Neat Pad: Go to ‘Settings’ – ‘Speaker’ – ‘Volume’.
You can change your video layout by clicking on the ‘Change View option shown on your Neat Pad Zoom Room Controller. The options are ‘Speaker’, ‘Gallery’ or ‘Thumbnail’. If you would like to see multiple participants, you can choose the Gallery view.
However, if this is not working as expected, it is possible you have your TV screen connected to the incorrect HDMI port of your Neat Bar. Please ensure that when using a single TV screen, you are connected to the HDMI 1 port of your Neat Bar to your TV monitor. If you have a second screen, you can use HDMI 2 port of your Neat Bar.
Yes, Neat devices support full Zoom digital signage functionality. Please see here for more info: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360000030683-Zoom-Rooms-digital-signage
Yes. Neat Bar’s Kensington Security Slot is located on the bottom of the device and is integrated into the venting holes.
Neat Bar offers an impressive range of features and we’ll continue to enhance its capabilities with frequent software updates. The following features are planned for upcoming over-the-air updates:
- Support for Neat Pad microphones to provide extended audio pickup range in larger rooms (Neat Bar is optimized for audio pick up of up to 16 feet/5 meters).
Often referred to as Neat Symmetry, Individual auto framing is an innovation that aims to restore visual balance between remote home workers and meeting-room participants.
With Individual auto framing, we can now dynamically frame individuals in the meeting room and join the frames together, eliminating the distance between them. The result is a single frame with multiple meeting participants, all roughly at the same size.
For more details, please read this article about Neat auto framing.
